Heart to Home | Guinea Pigs... So Cute

One of our wonderful staff members and her younger sister brought their pet guinea pigs in to visit the residents at Mendota Manor and Mendakota Manor!  We had so much fun cuddling with these cute little guys...  Prior to the visit we had a music therapy session (via Living Spirit Therapy) and a visit from Kayla's dog.  What a great way to spend a Saturday?!

We have been busy working on our State Fair projects for our big party next Monday.  Every year we pair staff and residents together to work on projects that are then displayed during our State Fair party!  

Heart to Home | Butterfly Garden

As a resident and I walked around the gardens at Mendota Manor filling bird feeders and enjoying the beautiful flowers, we were accompanied by these two beautiful monarch butterflies...  I think they were showing off a bit for the camera :)

Here are some pictures from recent events at Mendakota Manor.  We had a fun visit from Lily (5 lb doggy friend) and made some delicious zucchini bread (fresh from our garden!).  Although it's been a sweltering hot week we've been able to sneak out for breakfast on the patio before the heat sets in...

Heart to Home | Puppy Love & Patio Living

Wow, fabulous Minnesota summer weather here in Mendota Heights!  We have been enjoying manicures on the patio and our favorite visitor (Lily - 5lb pup).  We hope you are able to get out and enjoy this weather too!  For a special treat the staff are making some homemade zucchini bars (fresh from the resident gardens) for later tonight... Yum!

Heart to Home | Mammoth Sunflower

The staff and residents at Mendota Manor have been patiently waiting for our sunflower plants to sprout up...  Well, they have officially arrived (and they are giant!)!  They are so large in fact that we have had to use bungee cords to keep them upright :)
