Heart to Home | Como Zoo Outing

We had a wonderful resident outing (Mendota Manor) today at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory.  The weather was a perfect 10 and the animals were out and about giving us a fun and educational showing.  Here are some of our favorite photos from the outing...

Walking into the zoo!  There were busloads of school kids... Which made for excellent people watching.

The lions were awake and prowling their enclosure.  The king of the jungle was soaking up sunshine :)

Heart to Home | Happy Easter!

We have had a fun week at Heart to Home preparing for Easter.  We made Pinterest inspired crafts with our visiting homeschool group, picked out recipes for Sunday brunch and are looking forward to getting our hair and nails done on the Saturday before Easter!  After Easter Sunday we have two days of outings planned at The Como Zoo...  Should be fun!!

Heart to Home | Last (Hopefully) Major Snowfall, Fun!

At Mendota Manor we made the most of the last (hopefully) April snowfall in MN.  We made snowmen, dyed snow and threw a few snowballs :)

Heart to Home | Fun in the Sun!

Minnesota Hardy is what we like to call ourselves.  After one of the coldest and longest winters on record when the weather hit the mid 50's the residents at Heart to Home rejoiced by sitting outside in the fresh air.  The fresh air tired us all out and we all had the best sleep ever!  We are looking forward to more warm days and sun soaked days on the patio.

Heart to Home | Visit from Charlie

Everyone loves visiting with Charlie and Charlie loves all of the treats and attention he gets from the residents at Heart to Home :)

We also took one of our residents to the Eagan Community Center walking track for some walking excercise.  We walked the full 11 laps = 1 mile!  We are eagerly waiting for the snow to melt so we can get outside for walks in the neighborhood.  The walking paths by Heart to Home are excellent.

Heart to Home | More fun artwork!

Enjoyed some fun artwork at Heart to Home this evening at Mendota Manor!  At Mendakota Manor we enjoyed Bingo with our homeschool volunteers...  Fun times at H2H!

Heart to Home | More Valentine's Crafts!

Another round of fun Valetine's Crafts at Heart to Home!  Working with paints and glues to make beautiful sun catchers.  It was fun to watch the colors mix and create beautiful blending effects and new colors. 

Heart to Home | Valentine's Projects

A fun Valentine's project via Pinterest!  The residents at Mendakota Manor used tissue paper to make heart shaped "stained glass" cutouts to hang on the windows.  They were a fun project that allowed us to work on increasing our fine-motor skills.  The residents at Mendota Manor worked on decorating heart shaped cookies complete with pink frosting and sprinkles - another great fine-motor activity!

Heart to Home | Let's Dish!

Snuck out into the cold for a quick resident outing to Let's Dish today!  Always fun to pick out their delicious meals, plus Kathy threw in some heart shaped cookies for us to bake and decorate for Valentines day :)
