Heart to Home | Connie Evingson Concert in the Park

We had a wonderful time at the Connie Evingson Concert at The Village Mendota Heights last evening.  The residents from Mendota Manor and Mendakota Manor enjoyed a beautiful evening in the community with friends and family.  The weather was perfect, a cool summer breeze, and there was a large crowd from the surrounding community (Eagan, Mendota Heights, West Saint Paul - we saw many familiar faces and a few neighbors).  Below are some candid pictures from the event...

From time to time we like to bring in a high quality camera to capture some beautiful pictures of residents, the gardens, etc...  Plus we have some residents and staff that enjoy playing around with the camera and making it into a little activity.  It's always fun when you capture a special moment, a special smile and some beautiful pics... Heart to Home | Art Therapy / Creative Expression

Today we enjoyed music therapy followed by art therapy.  The painting projects were fun to work on and helped us feel accomplished, plus they made for cute decorations!

Heart to Home | School Children Visit

We had a fun day with our visiting Christian Home School Group.  We painted birdhouses, played some bingo and enjoyed good conversation.  We sure appreciate our wonderful volunteers that come visit us at Heart to Home on a regular basis.  Your efforts are greatly appreciated!  Inter-generational therapy is so important to our mission of holistic care and remaining a part of the community at large.

Heart to Home | Wii Therapy!

We've had a few rain days here in Minnesota so in an effort to stay busy we've been trying some Wii Therapy at Mendota Manor!  It's a great way to get the upper body moving (read research about Wii Therapy for post-stroke therapy).  We had fun bowling and sledding down the hill (video game versions of course).  Here are just a few snap shots from the activity...

Mother's Day visitors at Mendota Manor.  Although it was a bit chilly we still managed to enjoy visiting with family.  We even braved the cooler weather to plant a few flowers at Mendakota Manor.  Clearly we have spring fever!  It should be a fun summer of gardening and sunshine at Heart to Home.
